We have a problem.

Here’s what happened…

Wolverine Coatings Corporation is a company dedicated to formulating and manufacturing the absolute best coatings for extreme environments. Their products are selected by experts to be used demanding situations everywhere from hospitals to nuclear power facilities. Protective coatings contractors and end users are propelling Wolverine Coatings to be one of the fastest growing coatings suppliers in the industry.

Occasionally Wolverine Coatings had surplus material, colors that were a little off tint along with small lots, and they decided to offer that surplus material to home owners and other Do It Yourself projects. This turned out to be a huge success as people had great results with Wolverine floor coatings and word of mouth spread in the DIY market. So what’s the problem?

The problem is that Wolverine didn’t have enough surplus material to meet the new DIY demand, plus their operation is geared to large volume commercial and industrial accounts. The solution? AlphaGarage.

Wolverine and AlphaGarage have teamed up to offer a wide range of affordable solutions to home owners and small businesses who want the benefits of a proven industrial strength floor coating system, and outstanding support, for a affordable price.

If you have a project in mind, and would like a free custom no obligation evaluation, all you need to do is supply us with a few details…

1) What is the current condition of your floor?
2) Are there a lot of crack, how large are they?
3) Is there an old coating or sealer on the floor?
4) How large is the floor?
5) What sort of punishment will your new floor be subject to? (parked cars, wood work shop, shop, etc.)

We would appreciate it if you would join this forum and start a new thread here with those details about your project, or feel free to email us here. If you post your project on this forum, please include pictures, they can help a lot in getting you the best answers, plus we like seeing garages, cluttered or not! And we’re also available at 877-333-GARAGE (4247)

We're still finalizing the details of the AcryliSeal 3501 beta, when it's up and running we'll have more product info for you. But in the meantime, and with the caveat that this is a work in progress with details subject to change, here are a few Q's and A's...

QUOTE
What are the preparation procedures?

Most of the projects that have been done so far are on new concrete overlays, pavers, or old driveways. We haven't worked much with hard troweled new concrete. That may need a very mild muriatic acid (or citric acid) wash, a strong pressure washer (≥2,500 psi) would probably get the same result. The important thing is that the wet AcryliSeal 3501 is able to penetrate the concrete.

Most applications are simply going to be a good sweep, pressure wash, dry, coat.

QUOTE
What is the preferred method of application?

People apply this by roller, brush, airless spray, or even a garden weed sprayer (preferably a new one). The important thing is to apply it evenly. It is typically applied in at least 2 coats and some people do even more depending on their preferences.

QUOTE
Will it recoat to itself?

Yes... prep will depend on the circumstances...

QUOTE
What is the expected life of an application ( how often will it need to be recoated )?

This is not only a new product... but... a totally new chemistry. So, we're not sure how long it's going to last but our expectations are pretty high. We're expecting this new chemistry to greatly outlast other sealers in this same price range.

QUOTE
After curing, will the appearance of the concrete be changed (some sealers give a wet look ) ?

Yes, this product will 'color enhance' the concrete (wet look)...

QUOTE
How does it work with spills? Gas, brake fluid, etc?

The chemical resistance is pretty good. It is not going to be as resistant as a good quality epoxy, like our BondTite 1101 or LiquaTile 1184, but then the cost will be significantly lower, around 12¢ per square foot.

QUOTE
Will it be available in colors?

Yes it will, but not initially.
