Fred, I’m having trouble getting around the Alphagarage website.

I have been scouring the web for the past couple of months trying to absorb everything I can about garage floor options.
(Mostly on GarageJournal)
I have settled on an epoxy floor, and I’ve grown to understand that 100% solids is the way to go.

So now, I’m down to EpoxyCoat, Wolverine, and Armor.

Here’s what I have:

650 Sq Ft, 2-car garage - 16 yrs old, good condition, slick finish, no coatings, a few cracks and small oil stains.
After de-greasing the stains, I am planning to rent a floor grinder to rough up the finish and smooth out the cracks a bit.

Although the best rental price does not include diamond stones – just abrasive stones. (Is that important?)
(By skipping the chemical etching, I can save a day or two waiting for the floor to dry?)

Use is 95% parking only, with occasional auto maintenance or motorcycle mods. Floor jack/motorcycle lift used, but no engine/tranny will be pulled here.

I think I will need:

BondTite
LiquaTile Silver gray
Chips – about 12 pounds, custom mix
IntegraFlex for cracks?
EnduraShield
SuperGrip (with a motorcycle, can’t afford slippery feet)

When I used the estimator on the website a few weeks ago, the shipping price was pretty steep.
I live in the Raleigh, NC area – can I save on the shipping by having it come directly from the SC factory?

I would also like to know about any floor temp/air temp considerations for the application.

Disclaimer – I’m slightly terrified of screwing up the application, so I’ll probably have plenty of questions. unsure.gif

Thanks,
Rick Fox

Guys - thanks for the great sample photos of the different chip mixes and coverage.

I would love to see a photo of before and after applying SuperGrip.

I'm curious about how visible it is and how much gloss it removes from the topcoat, compared to a topcoat without it.
